LADY PIRATES FINISH SECOND AT TSCAC TOURNAMENT

On Saturday, the Lady Pirates traveled to Louisville, Mississippi to compete in the Tri-State Christian Academy Conference Tournament. In pool play. they opened with a 15-13 and 15-10 victory over Grace Christian of Louisville.  They then split with Bethlehem Christian of Potts Camp, Mississippi, 14-15 and 15-14. They competed pool play  splitting with Victory Christian Christian of New Albany,. Mississippi, 15-14 and 11-15. PA finished second in  pool play. In the next round they defeated Victory Christian 25-20 and 27-25. In the championship game, they lost to Bethlehem Christian 15-25 and 20-25.

Statistical leaders for the tournament were:

Catherine Johnson 43 out of 46 serving, 15 assists, 16 kills, and 3 blocks

Callie Minor 23 kills and 3 blocks

Tate Fuller 23 out of 27 serving with 3 aces.

Audrey Cochrane 21 out of 24 serving with 2 aces.

Elisabeth Hankins 25 out of 31 serving with 2 aces.

Ann Hamlin with 19 out of 20 serving.


MARENGO DEFEATS PIRATES

The Lady Pirates dropped a match with Marengo 25-18, 18-25, 22-25, 25-21, and 7-15. Callie Minor led  PA with 10 kills and 13 out of 13 serving. Catherine Johnson had 10 assists and 5 kills. Tate Fuller was 25 out of 27 serving with 5 aces and Audrey Cochrane was 19 out of 23 serving with 4 aces.  Elisabeth Hankins had 5 kills.

In the Junior High game, Marengo won 19-25 and 12-25. Whitney Lowe was 4 out of 4 serves and had 3 saves. Emily Russell was 5 out of 6 serving.


LADY PIRATES LOSE SEASON OPENER TO SUMTER

The Lady Pirates dropped their season opener monday to Sumter 0-3. After a slow start, PA did a great job in the third game losing 29-31. Catherine Johnson served 17 out of 18 for 94%, Callie Minor lead with 5 kills. Elisabeth Hankins had 1 kill and 5 saves. Audrey Cochrane served 11 out of 15 for 73% and had 2 aces.

The Junior High lost 0-2. They battled the second game to a score of 23-25. Elisabeth Hankins served 9 out of 10 for 90% and had 3 saves. Taylor Noland was 3 of 3 on serves, while Whitney Lowe and Hannah Lowe were each 5 of 6.  Whitney had 3 aces and Hannah had 2. Katie McKinsey had the only kill in the match.

The Lady Pirates host Marengo Avademy on thursday at 5:00.
