Pickens Academy Volleyball

  The Lady Pirates,  seeded third in the tournament, defeated Warrior 3-0 and lost to Sumter 3-0. Statistics for the tournament were: Catherine Johnson 28 out of 33 serves with 15 aces, 6 assists, 7 kills, 21 saves and 2 blocks, Ashley Frost 18 out of 20 serves with 6 aces, and 30 saves, Tate Fuller 18 out of 21 serves with 4 aces, Callie Minor with 8 kills, 28 saves and 2 blocks, Laci Kyles with 10 saves, and Haley Gates with 26 saves.

 The Junior High  Lady Pirates entered the state tournament as the number two seed with a 9-3 record. They lost two matches to Enterprise 0-2 and Wilcox 1-2. It was not a good day, as the two week lay off of not playing proved to break their season long strong play. Leading the Pirates were: Audrey Cochrane with 28 out of 31 serves, 7 aces, 3 kills and 43 saves, Elisabeth Hankins with 4 aces, 3 kills, and 27 saves, Katie Mc?kinzey with 15 saves, Emily Russell 20 saves, Caitlyn Barnes 20 saves and Whitney Lowe with 22 saves. Congratulations on an outstanding season.

  The Lady Pirates finished the regular season with a 3-0 (25-19, 25-6, 25-12) victory. Catherine Johnson served 13 out of 15 with 9 aces and 3 kills. Ashley Frost served 19 out of 22 with 9 aces and 14 digs. Tate Fuller was 8 out of 8 serves with 3 kills.  Callie Minor had 4 kills. Kacie Hattaway had 5 digs and Laci Kyles 4 digs. Haley Gates served 15 out of 16 with 9 digs.

 On Senior Night, the Lady Pirates swept both matches; 3-0 (25-9, 25-8, 25-3) and 3-0 ( 25-7, 25-4, 25-10) Stats for the matches were: Katie Lee had 12 digs and 1 ace, Laci Kyles had 2 aces and 4 digs, Haley Gates served 32 out of 34 with 16 aces and 9 digs, Kacie Hattaway had 7 aces and 4 digs, Morgan McCrary was 5 out of 5 serves and 9 digs, Anne Hamlin had 4 aces and 5 digs, Katherine Gilliam had 2 digs, Mary Caitlyn Montgomery  served 14 out of 15 with 3 aces and had 5 digs, Tate Fuller had 3 aces and 10 digs, Catherine Johnson had 6 aces, 4 assists and 5 kills, Ashley Frost served 21 out of 23 with 17 aces, 2 kills and 6 digs, Callie Minor had 7 aces, 3 kills and 4 digs.

RECORD 11-6   AREA 9-6

The Lady Pirates lost a 3-2 match to Open Door (21-25, 20-25, 25-21, 25-16, 9-15). Callie Minor had 4 aces, 8 kills and 26 digs. Ashley Frost had 5 aces and 31 digs. Catherine Johnson had 6 aces, 6 kills and 35 digs. Tate Fuller had 17 digs. Haley Gates was 20 out of 20 serves and  Kacie Hattaway was 10 out of 10. Haley Gates set a school record with 102 serves in a row, but the streak was broken in the Sumter match. RECORD 9-6  AREA 7-6 

The Junior High defeated Open Door 2-0 (26-24, 25-21). Audrey Cochrane had 15 digs and 7 aces. Elisabeth Hankins had 3 kills and 8 aces. RECORD 9-3

  The Lady Eagles won the match 3-0 (23-25, 15-25, 17-25). Leading the Lady Pirates were Catherine Johnson with 5 assists and 26 digs, Ashley Frost with 5 aces and 26 digs, Callie Minor with 4 kills, and Kacie Hattaway with 8 out of 8 serves. RECORD 9-5 AREA 7-5

 The Junior High won 2-0 (25-23, 25-4)  Leading the team were Audrey Cochrane 5 aces and 10 digs, Elisabeth Hankins 9 digs, and Raven Hartley with 18 out of 19 serves. RECORD 8-3

  The Lady Pirates swept Wilcox Academy in two matches. In the first match, PA won 3-0 (25-12, 25-12, 25-10). The second match was 3-1 (17-25, 25-10, 25-12, 25-16). Ashley Frost had 22 aces and 41 digs. Callie Minor had 12 kills, 35 digs and 1 block. Catherine Johnson had 14 kills, 11 aces, 32 digs and 1 block. Laci Kyles had 11 digs. Kacie Hattaway was 28 out of 28 on serves and had 14 digs. Haley Gates was 33 out of 33 in serves and had 34 digs. RECORD 9-4  AREA 7-4

 The junior high beat Wilcox 2-0 (25-14, 25-17). Audrey Cochrane had 7 aces and 13 digs. Elisabeth Hankins had 2 kills and 8 digs. Whitney Lowe had 11 digs. Katie McKinzey was 9 out of 9 in serves. RECORD 7-3

 The Lady Pirates defeated the Lady Braves of Warrior Academy 3-0 (25-6, 25-6,  25-22)  Every Pirate played and contributed  to the victory. Catherine Johnson had 7 assists, Ashley Frost 7 digs, Tate Fuller 10 digs, Callie Minor 7 kills and 9 aces, Laci Kyles 3 digs, Katie Lee 4 digs, Morgan McCrary 4 digs, Anne Hamlin 100% serving, Katherine Gilliam 2 digs, Mary Caitlyn Montgomery 1 kill and 4 digs, Haley Gates 20 perfect serves and 9 aces, and Kacie Hattaway 8 perfect serves and 7 digs. Record ( 7-4) Area (5-4)

  The junior high won 2-0 by scores of 25-12 and 25-0. Audrey Cochrane scored 24 straight service points (22 aces) to shut out Warrior in the second game. In game one, Raven Hartley had 14 straight service points to lead the game. Audrey Cochrane had 7 digs, Elisabeth Hankins 5, Whitney Lowe 4, Caitlyn Barnes 4 and Raven Hartley 4. Reciord (6-3)
